DESCRIPTION:Sea Change/Sound Kitchen\n\nThursday\, June 24\, 2021\, 5   6 PM\n\nOnline: Zoom | FB Live\n\nSound Kitchen is a mini-concert by Anna Homler and an experiential workshop exploring the musical properties of everyday objects\, and the various kinds and qualities of sound. Anna Homler will help you navigate the ocean full of creatures in your breath and find the orchestra in your kitchen. Sound Kitchen explores alternative means of communication and the poetics of ordinary things. Sound Kitchen will be beamed out to the world from Nancy Hunt's BRAT store in Santa Monica. Participants can upload their own Sound Kitchen mini-concerts and share them via the 18th Street Arts Center 18@home platform. Sound Kitchen will be recorded and available for viewing after 06/24.\n\nANNA HOMLER is a vocal\, visual\, and performance artist based in Los Angeles. She has performed and exhibited her work in venues around the world. With a sensibility that is both ancient and post-modern\, Homler sings in an improvised melodic language. Her work explores alternative means of communication and the poetics of ordinary things.
