Enjoy stimulating networking and a sumptuous array of appetizers and beverages at one of the coolest offices in Los Angeles.\n\n\n\nFor the presentation this year\, Nadine Farid Johnson and James Hawkins will provide an overview of the community involvement activities and corporate giving initiatives at Google. Since Google joined the Venice community\, Googlers have been involved with and supported local education and non-profit organizations. Nadine and James will highlight some of what Googlers have been working on in the Venice area and beyond\, as well as the corporate guidelines for providing community support. If time permits\, they will walk you through the grant process and eligibility criteria for receiving support form Google.\n\n\n\nPlease join us! It's really the people that make Google the kind of company it is. They hire people who are smart and determined\, and they favor ability over experience. Although Googlers share common goals and visions for the company\, they hail from all walks of life and speak dozens of languages\, reflecting the global audience that we serve. And when not at work\, Googlers pursue interests ranging from cycling to beekeeping\, from frisbee to foxtrot. \n\n\nAbout Nadine & James \n\nNadine is the campus manager at Google LA\, overseeing real estate and workplace services and engaging with community stakeholders. As an ambassador for the site\, Nadine works to maintain and expand area partnerships. Nadine is an attorney with a background in intellectual property\, university teaching\, and diplomacy.\n\nJames is a long-time Los Angeles Googler who started his career at Google as an intern in Santa Monica in 2006. James has developed features for the Chrome browser and Android phones\, and he currently manages a team of engineers developing software for Chromebooks. James is passionate about volunteering\, and in his role as community outreach lead\, he empowers like-minded individuals in the office to engage with the community to understand the community's needs.\n\nVenice Connect is an evening networking event designed for active and engaged professionals who are seeking to enhance their involvement in the local business community.\n\n\n\nHosted on the 4th Wednesday in January\, April\, July and October from 6:00 - 8:00 pm\, at fun locations in and around Venice\, Chamber members and prospective members gather to meet\, mix and mingle. When you attend this event consistently\, you can expect to:\n\n\n\n**Increase awareness for you and your business\n\n**Build and expand your referral network\n\n**Meet other like-minded people involved in the local community\n\n**Learn about the latest events & opportunities happening in the Venice area\n\n**Participate in dialogue & contribute your voice on issues you care about\n\n\n\nPromote your business/expand your visibility!
