Venice Family Clinic Health + Justice Series: Racism - The Public Health Crisis
In 2020, the Clinic celebrates its 50th anniversary amidst the backdrop of complex and converging events: a global pandemic, a call to action on racial equity, and a fight to ensure that everyone has access to quality health care, regardless of their income, insurance or immigration status.
In light of this challenging reality, we are hosting a series of conversations about the relationship between health and justice.

The COVID-19 pandemic has laid bare the racial injustice in our society, with our Black and Latinx communities suffering disproportionate rates of illness and death. This is just the latest evidence that people of color face greater inequities that lead to poor health outcomes. The structural racism in our society and in the health care system threatens their lives and their access to quality care.
We urge you to join us for this revealing look at the effects of racism on health from the perspective of three leaders working to bring equity and compassion to the health care system.
