March 19, 2020

On Friday, March 13
th our Club made the difficult decision to shut down following the LAUSD School Closures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Safety is our number one priority and we are doing everything possible to keep our children, staff, and volunteers protected from the virus.

We aim to provide comprehensive programming to ensure our Club members are developing into productive, caring, responsible citizens. We don’t just provide a safe haven for the children and teens we serve, but many of our Club members rely on the meals they receive at school and at our Clubs. With both being closed, we are working tirelessly to ensure that the families who need our assistance are taken care of.

Here are a few ways you can help:
  • Make a significant one-time donation to ensure that our incredible staff are able to remain on our payroll and our Club members are able to return to a safe, stable environment.
  • Mail gift cards to local grocery stores (Target, Trader Joe’s, Kroger, and more) for us to gift families especially in need.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Venice – 2232 Lincoln Blvd., Venice, CA 90291
  • Join our monthly giving program to help sustain our organization and the children we serve.
  • Call your senator to ensure that funding is not cut to afterschool and summer programs and emergency funding will be sent to organizations that can help provide the care and services families desperately need. (202-559-4806)
We are anxiously awaiting the return to business as usual and re-opening our doors to continue to work with the most vulnerable children and teens in our community but, we need your help to get there.
Please make a gift today to support the children and families in need during this disaster.
