Our club is joining California Coastal Cleanup Day at Mother's Beach — the only on-water cleanup site in LA County.
This is Environment in action, one of Rotary's seven areas of focus and the one we live on top of. What washes up on our beaches doesn't stay here; it goes into the water, the wildlife, and back to us.
Two crews, one morning:
Life jackets are required on the water — loaners available.
What to bring: refillable water bottle, sunscreen and a hat, closed-toe shoes, your dinghy or paddleboard if you have one, and a friend or five.
We provide: gloves, bags, buckets, data cards, volunteer waivers, and life jackets for water crews.
Everyone is invited — fellow Rotarians across District 5280, families and kids (Interactors and Rotaractors especially welcome), and community members. No Rotary membership required.
Registration and additional details at mdrrotary.org. Sign-ups also available at our Thursday meetings.
Led by our Environmental Service Committee — Nico Ruderman & Lennart Heyner.
