The purpose of the event is to bring resources to small and medium sized businesses across the Palisades Fire burn area, which includes Pacific Palisades and Malibu. It has been a little over a year now since many of these businesses have been incapacitated, and while some have been able to open their doors again, others still need to build back buildings and find new leases in order to stand up businesses again. Even those that have opened their doors find that they need to be more creative and find new strategies to survive this downturn since this recovery is bound to be long. Business is in Malibu find that foot traffic is exceedingly slow because PCH is nearly impassible and certainly not inviting. Open businesses in Pacific Palisades have a different kind of troubles with 90% of residence still displaced. The purpose of this day-long resource fair is to bring expertise, technical assistance, insights and tools to the business community so they can revise their strategies, find new tools, and have support to build back businesses and thrive through the recovery.
