St. Hildie’s “Over Cocktails” Art Show

OVER DRINKS!

Celebration, memorialization, friendship, commiseration, promises, dissolution, pomp, escapism, and social revelry are just a few of the many energies exchanged over cocktails. Having drinks alongside life’s events, important, looming, or seemingly insignificant, is a ubiquitous practice in many places around the globe. Gathering socially over a shared beverage has been a function of societies since the pre-written word. 

Each cocktail culture has its own nuance, flavor, and tone. From ancient Greek salutes to Bacchus, the bar scenes of Caravaggio, the boaters of Renoir, the Green Fairy, to the modern, ethereal work of Monika Baer, alcohol is no stranger to muse (or vice of muse). Plans have been forged, and love affairs consummated. Interchanges great and small have taken place over cocktails. 

Dorado 806 Projects, in partnership with St Hildie’s Spiked Tonics, invites you to submit art that shines a little golden light on cocktails, and the beings and happenings that surround the sharing of them.
